I want family photos and milestone photos of my child. Which session is best for me?
I try to make my session packages as simple as possible. If you are wanting a good variety of photos, then a 'Full session' would be the best session to book. A full session is an hour long and we use that hour to get as many pose variations as possible. We can get poses of the family, siblings and children alone during this time.
What locations do you serve?
I serve locations & homes within 30 miles of Canton, MI and my locations I frequently shoot at are also within this radius. I do travel a little further if needed. There would be a milage fee of 0.50 cents per additional mile traveled roundtrip. If you are unsure if I travel to your location, it is best to contact me directly first before booking.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes, I offer mini sessions seasonally only. All upcoming mini session dates can be found on my booking site. Click "book a session" below for all upcoming dates.
Where do your sessions take place?
Sessions can be outdoors (I can provide you my favorite location spots) or they can be in the comfort of your home. If you don't want to chance the weather, we can do a covered greenhouse or a cute boho studio located in Plymouth!
What do I need to do to book?
You can send me an inquiry through my website or you can click the "Book a session" button below if you're ready to select your date/time. This will take you to my current available session dates! To secure your session date, I do require a non-refundable deposit and a session contract electronically signed at the time of booking. Once I receive the deposit and contract, you are all set and booked!
What should I wear?
I advise wearing something that you are comfortable in. Soft neutrals such as cream, ivory and gray pair beautifully with navy, dusty blue, blush, soft greens and leather brown. In general, avoid bright colors (especially neon). Neutral colors also tend to be a bit more timeless as they allow the photo to focus on your connection with each other, instead of on your clothes. Lastly, accessories are what truly make the outfits so feel free to get creative with scarves, boots, hats and jewelry. Old Navy, H&M and Target have great selections of family outfits that coordinate well together.
What is the best time for an outdoor shoot?
The best time for an outside shoot is generally early in the morning or in the evening 1-2 hours prior to sunset (golden hour). This is because the sun is not at the highest point in the day yet. If it is too bright outside mid-day; it can cause harsh shadows. I always suggest morning or evening before sunset as the best time options. I am very used to shooting at all times of the day though and I generally work with shaded spots when the sun is too high.
What if the weather is not looking good?
If there is rain in the forecast for your session we have two options:
1) Reschedule. We can find another date in the near future that would work for the both of us. This is a good idea if you’re looking for a certain vibe and the weather is just not cooperating.
2) Consider an in-home session or more of a covered area to do the session.
Of course, we don’t really know what the weather will look like until close to the date of the session, so we will stay in touch as the date nears if the weather looks variable.
When will I receive my finished photo gallery?
Turnaround time to receive your completed gallery is within 14 days. I do try to provide you with a little sneak peek though within a few days of your session.
Can I order professional prints?
Yes! While your session includes digital files you may also order professional prints, canvases, cards, and more directly from your gallery.
